Navrat, mine was sent to ST JOHN'S.

My Account, what does received mean - Received means that your return has arrived to it's destination, but your return has not been accessed yet.

If not, resend all info as a copy to them for consideration. What a crock of bull(&^%$(%!! The first lady I spoke to in her non english/non french broken english, who I could not understand, suggested I call back and another agent would be willing to help me. May be a dumb question but how have those that discovered CRA did not use the 1198 determine this?

RCN 2 so far by my count so nationwide class action and civie I would guess a boatload.

they use to put a notation on your assessment I think on the last page that they used it and the result but not the calculatios. I would expect they still do so look for it.

whether it helps you ore not ask the CRA for your calculations so you can see fore sure what went on in the calculations . its the only way to make sure its done right.

ITS YOUR RETURN OWN IT.

Really annoyed because I called cra and they don't even have record of ever receiving my tax return that I sent early March and like what you folks are saying that I have to wait until end of the month to see if a duplicate copy has to be sent. First I had to wait to get all my tax slips before going to tax man and now I may have to redo it all. I owe a large chunk and was hoping that the T1198 would help me. Not sure what to think now. Also read here that I don't have to pay my bill until I get a notice of assessment but in the past I usually got the deposit weeks before even getting the notice of assessment. What happens if I owe this money and the notice of assessment takes weeks to get to me. Will I owe interest on the amount if my T1198 doesn't help me that is?

If you do not have access to my account and you are looking to find the status of your return call the CRA once daily.
If they tell you to call back next Week, call daily.
If you are not satisfied with the agent you spoke with, call again until you are satisfied with the agent.
Extended hours are now available for you to call the CRA, so you can call them once daily in the evening.
Each and every time you contact the CRA, ask the agent to spell out their name, ask them to repeat their ID number, write this down, along with date and time, you will be surprised the change in attitude you get from the agents by doing just that.

If there is one thing that I have learned throughout this whole tax ordeal, CRA agents are not all on the same page, CRA specialist agents are not all on the same page, if your lucky enough to get one that is on the ball, that would be a bonus for you, from now on if I do not get the info needed, and or proper info, I will make it a point to keep calling until I am satisfied that indeed this person knows what is going on.

As of yesterday I have been on full tilt towards resolving my issue at hand.
And investigation has been started on my file, my file has been sent back for reassessment which will include the T1198, I did not send in and adjustment form, as it is determined a CRA error, the timeline for my reassessment is between 6 - 8 Weeks from today. It looks like it is a keying error on their part, a human error if you will, but once this is resolved I will not sit in silence, human error is one thing, but when you are given improper information from superiors, that I will not stand for, every bit of info is being recorded, and I will follow up with that part after my problem has been resolved, after all we are not dealing with a couple of hundred dollars here, we are dealing with thousands of dollars.

I will keep a close eye on a daily basis to insure that my problem is in fact being resolved, I also am requesting a full copy of my calculations once completed.

Atta boy Trooper! And to Digger....my paper file has not been received yet either. Hurry up and wait. After playing the re-dial game yesterday for hours, I was told to call back next week to see if they receive it. I actually thought it would be completed by now! Not merely not received.

Did anyone get the authorization letter from cra allowing the accountant  (tax preparer) to access your records? By law we had to sign a waiver which I did.  I was told by cra that if I got that letter even if the system shows tax return not received  yet that it would have been received by cra for them to issue that letter of notice to access between cra and the accounting firm.

Digger, I sign the waiver when I completed my return with my accountant.

When you are told and or see not received, that just means that your return has not yet been assigned to be assessed, when you see received, that means that the process has been started on your return, but it has not been assessed yet.

If your concern is if your return has indeed reached it's proper destination, depending on the method used to send it, if that would occur, your return should have been sent back to sender by now.

Like I have said, call once a day, they get paid to answer your questions, let them earn their pay.

Calling helps in two ways. Tracking and also asking about the T1198 specifically should get annotated by the cra call in takes so when they do open your tax return hopefully they will see the notes already on the system about the T1198. But if anyone has received that letter from cra confirming the access by accountant then it is safe to assume it has reached its destination and is in the que.

CRA won't do anything until exactly 6 weeks not including weekends have passed. I sent mine and it will be exactly 6 weeks on the 29 of April so call back then, then they put a trace on it. The call center people only have access to what you have access to on CRA . So let's hope it's just back logged and everything works out
