Just read the article in the News section and see that retired Lt-Gen Peter Devlin is mentioned. I often wandered what happened to him.
I met him when he was the Base Commander in Petawawa and then during one of the deployments when he was a General.
In Pet, when I met him on the base (in civis) he introduced himself as 'Hi, I am Pete". Only after a couple of weeks I realized that he was a base commander.
During deployment he would always sit for meals with soldiers ( and nobody was running away from the table). Never demanded some special treatment (as some of them do).

Sorry to see that he did not get any higer. In my humble opinion, he was one of the finest in CAF. Real gentelman and decent human being.
