I'm not sure what AA2 is but I agree with you. Just so many categories and levels that it begins to be convoluted. Wish it was simpler. I have anxiety every time I have to fill out a application.

Is there something I missed?
One of our own receiving a VAC commendation....
Each their own.

See, when you are screwed around for so long.....1998 moving forward, thrown into the PA and NVC and being involuntarily medically released.
Bitterness my friends, bitterness.

The GOC has us all running around with our heads cut off, they never allow for certainty under the NVC.

Yup! never know when that brown evil-ope will show up in your mailbox.
Respect...................................that is earned VAC.
Civilians, know your place.
Veterans you've earned your place.
"YES" men, know your place.
The mental abuse, pure mental abuse without an off switch.

Yes troops it is one fracked up system but you must continue to fight for every benefit you are entitled to I've been fighting since 2002 and I do see the light at the end of the tunnel keep on fighting and you will succeed and yes it is a long process that will piss you off but do not give up take back your life !!!

Panserbjorn

If I was to take a guess I'd say the AA2 is the "Attendance Allowance 2" or grade 2 of 5 on the Attendance Allowance scale.

Think were all on the same page here. Rifleman, it can be a very small light and a very long tunnel'
I do not understand %'s but I'm 60 old pa. Don't know nvc %'s or awards.
However... I'm a lucky sob and I don't forget it along with other benefits that I get.

That said, GoC has emphasized simplifying (paperwork) forms for quite some time now. Reducing red tape and ease of access being better, remember that? Anyone find it easier over the last few years?
I haven't. Just a few applications mind you but I had to find and read the revised (current) policy documents to find out. Meanwhile, a VAC account is just BS to me.

What is not BS is if you have a cm front line worker that's pro-active for you. One you can talk to... straight. Good place to start if you got one... 2 cents.

Took me 12 years of fighting VAC to be even remotely deemed disabled and it looks like another 12 years to prove to them I haven't changes idiots for sure.

I've been disabled and off work completely for over two years. Only just medically released in April. i am already at 104% and I am preparing to fight them for three more claims. Hearing loss, anxiety disorder and PTSD.

That is the advantage of the old pension act, first every part of the act was tax free, some may say that is not that impressive compared to the NVC, but looking deep in the numbers between benefits that are taxed, and those that are not taxed, I think in the long run or long term you will find that tax free is far more beneficial then tax pensions even if the pensions are a bit higher.

The next thing is that the old act was for life, technically for life after age 55. Very good long term security.

The old act was all under one umbrella, it is true Veterans still had to fight for their benefits, but the fighting was less complex then what is available today. This is why I think anger and frustration builds deeper among Veterans applying for benefits today. I agree with others in stating keep up the fight, yes it is hard to keep your head together when your daily quest for the assortment of different benefits and levels of benefits keeps you scratching your head wondering if it's all worth it, this above and beyond your daily struggles dealing with your medical conditions, but we must not let those in charge of our well being discourage us from applying and appealing for what is available today with respect to benefits, and how we must go about obtaining those benefits. To put it another way, we really have two options, 1, Never give up your fight to obtain benefits. 2. Give up the fight and lose your chance at receiving benefits. Option 1, is the only option that gives you a chance, option 2, leaves the Veteran with no chance, therefore simply put, we do not have much of a choice in the matter.

CSAT offers a lot of help, help that shows just how people can have such big hearts towards their fellow human being, it is truly amazing to read members post each and every day, there is a strong bond of unity and respect among ourselves that brings support and assistance to the highest level. Every single member should be proud of themselves for getting involved in being a part of something so rich in comradeship, it is truly a forum that brings out the best in all of us.

Panserbjorn you will be covered medically if you win your three more claims but will not receive any financial award.

Panser, you wrote "Only just medically released in April."
"Only looking for the medical coverage for what I am entitled."

Get your MEDICAL DOC'S, anything incl. dental and esp. pre-enrolment medicals.
ANYTHING you can get your hands on. Copy that to a civie doctor if ya can find one.

By hook or crook,  It will help you down the road buds...

Trooper - Brother you got that last post right on the head. Hugs to you for it, and all on here. I came to this forum a couple of yrs ago, when life was heading into that black hole, and I  did not know where to turn with all the redtape, and processes. Mentally and physically we on here do not have it anymore, like the keen sharp young soldiers we once were . But damn us older, grayer and crankier farts still have it. So tks brothers for having my back when i needed it the most, VVV... Out..
