Will you have someone to give it to in the next 5 to 6 years while it is still being offered as a university bursary and then if you are ELB will you have someone to give the amount to until all of the rest of the money is gone? I think someone in your family will become eligible. In my case I can never get any of the money left over because I do not receive LTD monthly but am a member of the class. I did not submit medical reports because I could not get any money from SISIP.

It's a one and done firebird. Even if you are under both the PA and NVC. Sorry. Hey look at it this way I've got no kids, nieces or nephews who I can use it for so I get nadda but at least a ELB can.

Well I was impacted 100% as I am a zero sum but I am not deemed totally and permanently incapacitated and therefore do not receive monthly LTD benefits. So will I receive annual bursaries until all of the money is gone?

To reiterate - or confirm what teen has stated, with respect to the Bursary Fund, this from the order;

At the completion of the first 7.5 year period and for such
time thereafter until the Bursary Fund monies are
completely expanded, the Bursary Fund shall also award
bursaries annually to Veterans who were impacted by the
disability pension offset under the Canadian Forces
members and Veterans Re-establishment and
Compensation Act ( their Earnings Loss or Canadian Forces
Income Support benefit decreased as a result of the
disability pension offset).

Well firebird it was told to me by the law firm that it was a "bonus" for the clients during the negotiations. And part of that bonus was 7 years for LTD remainder of money goes to ELB. It's in the agreement.

Sounds like there is going to be a lot of money left in the bursary when it is closed for good which will go to the Law Firm.

The way it is suppose to work is the email notification alerting you that you have been successful, should be the end of communications for that Veteran, unless of course the Veteran is applying for themselves, in that case they will contact you.
So nothing to be sent to you via mail, unless you applied for yourself.

The person who the Veteran has applied for, is the only person who they will communicate with, going forward.
