peep you took the "word" right out of my mouth.

But I would be very care full in taking part in this program.

if you said you are 100% disabled, this might be a way for sisip to challenge weather or not your level of disability had improved.

lets face it, they will use any info against you, if they thought they could save money.

hope i'm wrong.

Cheers.

Veterans Bursary Program

Post by oldsailor on Wed 05 Feb 2014, 13:11

I log in a few minutes prior to the selection being implemented. The selection button was there precisely at 10:00AM PST. I put my son's name in.
Hopping for the best. Now When do we find out it we were selected or was the first 530 first come first served.

I applied for myself at 13:00EST just like it stated and when the application came through at 13:19EST and I went to fill it out and it said all bursaries have been maxed for this year. So it took approx. 19min or sooner to max out 535 first come first serve applicants. That was fast.

I was on at exactly the top of the hour and the website wouldnt even let me log on, then spent 25 minutes on the phone with them to have them finally tell me oops sorry all maxed out. This has been a bit of a crock in my opinion.

bursary fund update

Post by oldleftwinger on Wed 05 Feb 2014, 19:33

Navrat I believe that part of the bursary fund is taxable if you are not paying your costs to go to school
Meaning that if Veteran affairs is paying your school costs then the amount over $500 is taxable only.

I am sure that others can chime in here and get the correct answer out to everyone.
