Nothing beats those Costco chip bags, I'm heading out just to grab some, they'd go good with my COLA but no cola for this dude.

teen the thing is it seems at least to me he is planting seeds for future action on this subject maybe even getting rid of it sometime post election . maybe im just paranoid who knows what would be the reason for someone to come out with such an idiotic statement .

I really don't think there is a cure for PTSD nor do I think there is a treatment for PTSD as a whole .

so in that I believe he is correct .

from what ive seen and read on the subject most if not ALL treatments for PTSD are geared toward reliving the symptoms .

medical marijuana has been proven just as effective at releaving symptoms of PTSD as all other treatments . works for some but not for all . all the treatments are like that .

so why the frack would this guy single out this one particular treatment ???? it sure as hell makes me very curious . what exactly does this guy have planned for the future ???? or was this guy just talking out of his but without putting an ounce of thought into what he was saying . time will tell I guess.

a buddy told me he just started ran-nabilone or something spelled similar to that lol. he said its a pill form of pot without the THC he is on a very small dose for now and no joy yet.

just what I was told if interested im sure there is a lot of info out there somewhere on this if interested but he did tell me there is little to no side effects again just what I was told.

Nav you are talking about being stoned when the reality of medical marijuana used properly allows you to "function" not "couch-surf" with a Costco monster chip bag.

Got to agree with the paperwork crap though.

Teen , it must be a lot better than all the other prescription drugs! I used a ton of it while in high school , loved it and I remember feeling pretty dam good in the day. Then I get into the forces stop using it and come out a bag of bones waiting by mail boxes , doing recon at the area postal outlets, trying to bribe postal workers, sending Anttette and Christie at MC flowers and chocolates but nothing works. I remember the only paperwork I cared about was my pack of Zig Zag rolling papers , now I look at the trunk full of VaC and sisip papers and I wish I could smoke that. I might just look that number up in New Bruinswick about getting a prescription for it or maybe I'll just give JT a call and invite him down for a sit down with some of that 60s Trudeau weed he's been hoarding from his fathers estate!

So back to the medical marijuana topic....

I've asked about this as at one point I thought about it because there is more ways now to use it. Vaporize, oil, mist spray, baking in cookies basically users choice.
There is a marijuana department at VAC to process the applications. From what I was told they are organized and take each application seriously.
Having a doctor prescribe it on the other hand is where the problem exists. My specialist told me he could write me a prescription right now but he would be on the hook if something was to happen.
Marijuana does not have a DIN number, Drug Identification Number. This is like a doctors get out of jail free card if say I was to get stoned out of my skull and do something that breaks the law. If the law I broke is serious enough the courts could make my doctor show up and possibly pull his medical degree.

There is a service now in New Brunswick (see Latest News for the story) that will help you get your Canadian Medical Marijuana card, do the VAC application, then find a doctor who will prescribe it to you.
This service is starting to expand across Canada. A service is setting up in Markham Ontario.
So what I think the Minister is trying to say, and this is just my opinion, he want's people to do their research and make sure this is the right way for you to handle your PTSD, chronic pain etc.

I asked my specialist if marijuana would work for my chronic back pain. He said maybe because it's dosage requirements that would be hard to find without having me baked all day long. I asked what about the pills and he said that there isn't a lot of information on the effects of pill form cannibas for him to make the right decision.

So in a way the Minister is right there isn't enough research on medical marijuana. He didn't say he was going to cut it off or out of VAC. He really wants us to do our research first.
I can almost bet that this will be a topic/issue that will be at the next CIMVHR (Canadian Institute of Military Veteran Health Research). It is time for some serious research.

Oh if anyone is doing chemo for any kind of cancer and you are offered it take it! I have had so many friends who did and did not take it. The ones who used it after chemo had less side effects of naseua, tiredness, eating etc. I'm not saying I'm a specialist but I noticed it also gave them more time because they weren't wasting energy on vomiting or being afraid to eat.

I like this topic Riddick so I'd love to hear if someone knows people who have used marijuana using various methods of delivery and how it helped or did not help.
