Just got this email from Aphria today

Re: Changes to the 30-day Order Policy

>>> PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY AS CHANGES TO APHRIA’S ORDERING PROCESS COULD IMPACT YOUR ABILITY TO MAXIMIZE YOUR ORDER <<<

Dear Valued Patient,

Effective 12:00AM EST on Friday, February 17th and to ensure compliance with the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations (ACMPR), Aphria will be implementing changes to the 30-day order policy. Please review details below and contact our Patient Care team at 1-844-427-4742 should you have any questions.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What are the changes to the 30-day order policy?

There will be two (2) changes:
1. Order cycles will now be based on a fixed 30-day period, refreshed at the end of each 30-day period.
2. To ensure compliance with the ACMPR, Aphria will be changing the method in which it calculates "estimated order delivery date." Estimated order delivery date will now be calculated as the date the order is shipped + 1 day (vs previous calculation which was; date the order was placed + 1 day).
How is this different than the previous 30-day rule?
Previously, each individual order had its own 30-day period that needed to expire before the grams would become available for purchase. Also, under the previous system, the order date was based on the date the order was placed, not the shipment date.

Can I still place multiple orders throughout a 30-day cycle?
Yes. Patients may still place multiple orders throughout the 30-day period and the monthly allowance will refresh every 30 days.

When does a 30-day cycle take effect?
The 30-day cycle takes effect at the time the 1st order is shipped + 1 day based on the 1st order date from your most recent medical document. The cycle will refresh every 30 days going forward. (Example: If the first order is shipped on January 2nd, the cycle ends on February 2nd. The next cycle would then begin on February 3rd and end on March 4th.)

Important Note: Due to the changes Aphria encourages patients to place orders at least two days prior to their respective cycle end dates to ensure the order is allocated to the intended 30-day period and to avoid the order crossing over into the next 30-day period based on the date it is shipped.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
The Aphria Team

Looks like they took my advice and started following the rules.

It honestly depends on the doctor. My old script was a year and this script is only 6 months.

How often do you have to 'renew' your prescription with a doctor?
I got mine for 3 months. Is that the standard?

Cheers

Prescription Cycles

CHECK YOUR ORDER DATES!
I'm currently in the process of switching LPs.
January 14th 2017, my full prescription with Aphria was available to order.
I waited until January 24th to order because I was switching LPs and none of Aphria's available strains were ones that worked for me.
I checked my account today and it said I could order on February 24th.
Aphria is still using the "30 days since last order" scheme.
I called them and informed them that my date was wrong and that ordering cycles reset every 30 days.  The agent told me that I was misinformed.
I asked to speak with her manager and they confirmed to me that cycles should reset every 30 days, but their system does not do it yet....
Essentially, if you are ordering from Aphria at any date after the day that your prescription resets, you are losing that daily allowance of medication.(14-24th I lose 10 days of medication)
I asked for my date to be manually changed to reflect ACMPR regulations.  I'm not going without my medicine.
I will post after I hear back from them.
I advise all of you to check your ordering cycles with your respective LPs!!

ACMPR

When Health Canada eliminated the Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulations in August of 2016 they instituted the new Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations (ACMPR). Of the changes made to the ACMPR, one that has not been talked about much is how a patient’s 30-Day limit is calculated.

Health Canada regulations state that a patient can order a maximum of 30 times their daily limit within a 30-day period, but cannot exceed 150 grams per order per day. An individual can order as many times as they wish within the 30-day limit.

That hasn’t changed.

What has changed is the date on which the 30-day limit starts.

Under the old regulations, the 30-day limit was always based on when the patient placed their last order. This “sliding scale” had to take into consideration all orders placed within the last 30 days, and could cause patients to essentially “lose” days, affecting the availability of their medical cannabis.

Under the new regulations, per Health Canada, the 30-day Limit was established based on the expected delivery date of the patients first order after the changes came into effect on August 24. The limit restarts every 30 days, regardless of whether a patient orders or does not.

When a patient renews their registration the 30-day limit is determined again based on the expected delivery date of their first order after renewal. Orders for the next ACMPR Limit period can be shipped 2 business days in advance of that date.
