It's a son of a gun SaintJohn18182,

Finding a doctor, here's really hoping doctors have patience, understanding, and some listening skills when all goes to hell at 90 mph...

SJ... perhaps feel out your peers and family, ask around, even neighbours. You just never know.

I hope your on the waiting list for a physician.

That's one of the main issues facing medically released Veterans, finding a physician, and finding one that will support you in filling out forms.

If your seeing a specialist or mental illness specialist, ask them if they can assist you with finding a physician that will fill out the forms.

Also wouldn't hurt to let VAC know that you do not have a family physician.

Lack of Doctors in NB

Post by SaintJohn18182 on Tue 16 May 2017, 07:34

Its me again, sorry but I feel like I need to vent a bit this morning as this has been on my mind for years now.

I've sustained a shoulder injury while serving and got x-rays done, gone for physiotherapy and tried all sorts of different treatments while serving.

I suddenly released 4c due to some mental issues and I needed the quickest way out. No one was listening to me while I was in and I was scared.

Anyways I got approved for the mental issues after the fact and I am trying to pursue my shoulder injury as I'm in pain daily and it really effects my daily personal life.
I've been waiting 2+ years for a family doctor in NB and I've been to various walk-in clinics and the hospital asking them to please just fill out the VAC medical questionnaire or even just fill out a form saying my shoulder is injured. No one wants anything to do with it or VAC.

I finally found a Doctor 150km away and they refuse to sign off the form too or help me out, they just think injections and pain meds will solve my situation. I am so damn frustrated, I tried contacting the legion, MFRC, Trauma Healing Centre and the OSI..
No luck.

I've requested all of my medical documents but I've been waiting forever for them.

I don't know what to do anymore, I wish there was a Doctor that deals directly with VAC stuff and is pleased to help people.
