IBS wait time

Today I spoke to someone at VAC rather than deal with anymore emails. After 30 minute wait in cue on telephone someone finally answered my call. So apparently the files that are being looked at dated Feb 2017 are complex files that require more attention and are not cut and dry. I was told that the non complex cases are given a 34-38 window for completion. when I questioned then why is my application at 39 weeks the response was that they cannot guarantee the 34- 38 window for completion. So really I was given run around again. I have since starting drafting a letter to Ombudman and CC The Veterans Minister.

Bigrex. My initial application was sent in May 2017 (Step 1). Then all forms were completed by my Doctor and I went to step 3 on August 29 2017. So itís been sitting in a pile from August 2017 waiting to be adjudicated. I would assume that these files now being looked at for February 2017 were actually initiated in 2016? Sad state were in

So it's taking 15 months to make a decision, not including the time it takes them to send all your paperwork the PEI? That could put wait times up to two years, if they need documentation from specialists. I don't know how anyone in their right mind, could ever say that VAC is anywhere near having their shit together. But hopefully if the rumour about partial entitlements comes true, it should speed up the process, because they won't have to waste time trying to find ways to reduce the compensation.

I am having no luck uploading the email so here is my response that I received today from MyVAC WRT to email I sent yesterday asking for clarification to previous confusing email

Dear Mrs xxxx
At present your claim for IBS is in adjudication at Veterans Affairs Head Office. Your Service Standard Date is August 29, 2017. The average time to complete applications right now from Standard service date is 34-38 weeks.
Wait for it, Here comes the HOWEVER

Our Adjuication Unit is currently experiencing a back log due to higher than anticipated volume of applications. We have been informed that the oldest claims that are still in process have Service Standard Dates of February 2017
Once again we apologize for the delay

Then it goes on with Government recognizes the contributions blah blah

Eight months at step 3 seems like a god awful amount of time. Hopefully you will get a decision within the next couple of weeks. Like nemo said this is unacceptable.

Newf, I applied for consequential application for IBS on 16 June 2017 and had forms sent to me that were completed by Doctor. I went to Step 3 on 29 Aug 2017. It should not take that long as VAC do not need to access our medical file for any information as it has already been obtained for the approved Disability that is causing the IBS. Only news formation needed is what we provided for IBS. So now we sit and wait and wait and wait.

IBS wait time

Post by Newfie on Mon 30 Apr 2018, 11:32

Applied for consequential application in June 2017 for IBS, all forms completed and it went for adjucation on 29 Aug 2017. Inquiry on 4 Mar 2018 I was informed by secure email that turn around was 32-35 weeks. So now at 35 weeks I sent another email to VAC and was informed that the information I was given was not correct and that they are currently processing Feb 2017 applications. So I figure it will be well into fall before processed.
